scrolling lyrics

I'm new to using iMovie and trying to sync scrolling lyrics to a song. The lyrics start too early, and though I can move the green music bar forward, can't get the purple lyrics bar in front of the music. Thanks for any help on this embarrassingly newbie-lish dilemma!

iMovie 10 song titling I need to be able to add the lyrics to songs (in my church, songs are pre-recorded, lyrics added and then broadcast during the streamed service). I just need to add two lines lower centre, on a 50% opaque background as the song progresses. But iMovie 10 does not allow this. Music automatically being trimmed Im trying to add background music to a video I made, but every time I add it in, iMovie automatically trims it. I want the song to play from the beginning, and I am not being allowed to do that. Instead it decides to play the song about 30 seconds in and leaves a huge space of nothing and empty audio before that. What's the deal?

Another way you can do it is to put a black background in the main timeline, drag its edge to the duration of the music, and then add your scrolling lyrics on top of the background. Then you can slide your scrolling lyrics along the timeline to anywhere you want.

Hi,

Drag a black background to the timeline to add as a spacer in front of your lyrics. You can adjust the background to any duration you want by dragging its edge.
