Problem with itunes could not connect to this iphone 0xe800000a

I have a new iPhone X running v12.1.2 (16C101) and anew MIcrosoft Surface laptop running iTunes v 12.1.3.6 (latest versions says version checker) and I get the above when I connect my iPhone.

How do I fix this?

The current version of iTunes for Windows is 12.9.3.3. Use the direct downloads at the bottom of Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows update - Apple Community if needs be. See iOS device not showing in iTunes for Windows - Apple Community if you still have a problem connecting.
