Connecting mixer to MacBook Air

I currently have a Behringer PowerPlay headphone amp, a Behringer XENYX-X1222 mixer and my MacBook Air. I am recording a podcast that I am connecting 4 mics to the mixer and 4 headphones to the amp. I need to know the following:


  1. Can each mic appear on separate tracks in Garage Band?
  2. Can I use just the USB cable to connect the mixer to the laptop?
  3. How do I set up or do I need to set up a new audio midi?
  4. Is there any other equipment that is needed?
