AirPod case turned Yellow

My Airpod case has turned yellow. It has not been exposed to any direct sunlight nor been exposed to anything that I can think of. I do not smoke, but the white colour of the Airpod case is now yellow as if it has been exposed to smoke....

I've seen others posting about a similar problem. Is this common? My case is about 1 years old.
