Apple grants you the right to do ANYthing you want with ANYthing you _create_, on a non-exclusive basis, using apple loops. you can give, sell, or even blow up (limited by local ordinances) whatever you make.

what you can't do is sell the loops as loops, or claim copyright on someone else's songs that use the same loops.

The GarageBand software license agreement says:

"GarageBand Software. You may use the Apple and third party audio loop content (Audio Content), contained in or otherwise included with the Apple Software, on a royalty-free basis, to create your own original music compositions or audio projects. You may broadcast and/or distribute your own music compositions or audio projects that were created using the Audio Content, however, individual audio loops may not be commercially or otherwise distributed on a standalone basis, nor may they be repackaged in whole or in part as audio samples, sound effects or music beds."

So don't worry, you can make commercial music with GarageBand, you just can't distribute the loops as loops.

Yes I know, however from my understanding they have no claim over the loops. These people need to realize their in the same boat with others and the definition of what it means to have non exclusive rights

Now if you want to copyright the song can you copyright the song with the audio loops or just the lyrics for the song?

From my understanding You can only make a claim to the lyrics right?

you file a copyright on the entire collection of lyrics and music: the song; what you create is yours

Keith is correct that people make false claims of copyright, especially on YouTube, but legally you own your creation.
