Shadows on Thunderbolt Display

Hi all and thanks for your time.

Its been a few months now that strange shadows appear on my Thunderbolt Display.

I’ve tried to open it and clean the screen with no luck though as it doesn’t appear to be dust or anything.

The strangest thing happened today. I once again removed the glass to investigate and when I attached it back the shadows almost disappeared. After a few minutes though they appeared again.

Another strange thing is that when I removed the protective glass the monitor had this weird odour like a bloody armpit! I’m not joking!

What can I do to get rid of them?!

please see the attached photos.

Hi tbirdvet and thanks for your answer. You recon? That would be devastating... The screen is working just fine as I write this but I'm sure those shadows will reappear soon.

I bought this monitor 4 years ago for almost £900, that's like $1150, it would be such a same to pay another $400 just to fix something I didn't cause!

I've tried to run it without the glass with no luck. The shadows appear when the screen "heats up".

Thanks again for your time. Appreciated.

My past experience with my iMac would indicate LCD screen going bad which requires a repair. I assume this also applies to the TBD (which I also have but mine is OK). The last time I had to pay it was almost $400.00. However, try to run the display with the front glass panel off and see what happens just to be sure it is not some type of condensation(which I doubt).
