macbook pro dark spots on display

On my MacBook Pro 2016 I am having display issues with the bottom of my screen. There is this pattern of light/dark spots along the bottom of the screen. It seems like there are things casting a shadow over my display, there are 8 dark spots in total and the shadow extends about an inch towards my screen.

I did some research but could not find any thing addressing this particular question. Though many friends of mine have the same computer and I have seen the same effect on many of their screens. Any suggestions?
