How do I Back Up an iPhone to an External Drive?
I keep selecting "Back Up" in both "Library" & "iTunes"*, and it just keeps backing up in iCloud.

Thanks, but I can't select my external hard drive. It backs up to This Computer. So, is a Time Machine Backup the only workaround to an iPhone Restoration? Basically, at the time of Restoring my iPhone, I would create a Time Machine backup of my Mac right now. In the future, I would restore my Mac to this backup, restore my iPhone from the restoration stored on my Mac, then re-retore my Mac to when I to the backed up just Made.

Somehow, I just can’t select a particular device for an output. It’s just “This Computer” that I see.
You're welcome. I don't own an iPhone to check what it says. However, I've never heard of anyone backing up their iDevice to anything but their computer.
