My iPod classic 160 GB will no longer sync with my iTunes library.

I have tried all suggestions that I’ve read online and nothing has worked. My iTunes is up-to-date with the latest version, here is what is happening when I connect my iPod classic to my windows 10 laptop. I click on the iPod icon and it brings me to the page where it shows software version 2.0.5, when I go down to the audio bar, it shows that I have a 9394 songs I just downloaded yesterday, another 50 or 60 songs onto my laptop but these will not transfer to my iPod classic. When I hit the sync button on the bottom right , The iPod shows that it is sinking but just for about 30 seconds and then it goes back to connected, also at the top of the laptop screen it will flash start sink for a fraction of a second and then go back to the iPod icon. I have tried everything , I do not want to restore my iPod and risk losing all the songs I have paid for. If anyone has any new suggestions I would certainly appreciate it.

Unfortunately I have the same problem and yes I’d restore my IPOD Classic. Since that time iTunes recognize the device but that’s it. I can’t use it anymore as i can’t synchronize while using the latest iTunes version… this is really annoying as the IPOD classic is a cool device!

I was recommended to download a previous version of iTunes in order to synchronize the IPOD Classic, but I am afraid to lose my songs in iTunes.

I would appreciate if the community (or APPLE) would suggest a suitable solution for this problem - at least APPLE could allow older devices still to work with iTunes even without new updates!?
