I sent a long iMessage, but it doesn’t show delivered.

I sent a long paragraph to a friend and it doesn’t show delivered. When I mean a long paragraph, I mean, you don’t see the full thing unless you click on the arrow and it shows the full message. Well, I also notice, when I hold down the message, it shows a list of options, “copy, send as text message, more” but when I hold down the other regular texts, it just simply shows, “copy, more”. Does that mean my long paragraph didn’t get sent at all ?
