Will the content in question play in iTunes? Can you play the item in question from your purchase history rather than using the Computers app and Home Sharing.

I went to settings in my Apple TV
then iTunes and tried to pull up check for rentals it said no additional rentals found but if I go to movies and check rented I find two I also tried to download on to my iPad from iTunes it was unsuccessful
