XQuartz crash in Mojave 10.14

The following crash (once it starts it keeps reloading and crashing) occurs since 10.14.2. This needs to be repaired by Apple. I can only post the top message.

Do you need XQuartz / you can uninstall it if you are not using it ?

The average Mac user probably won’t have much use for X11 now that popular apps like Gimp are self-contained.

Apple stopped XQuartz shipping with OS X way back at 10.7.

The Mojave installed caused the issue by changing permissions in files that are not touched by users in the var and tmp directories. Thanks for the pointer <leroydouglas>: the issue was caused by faulty installation scripts in Mojave. I had been using XQuartz since 10.7 and never had issues upon upgrading the OS.

I agree that XQuartz has been rock solid over the years, but the last build was in 2016, and with it now crashing on High Sierra 10.13.6 (where it used to work), and Mojave — it may need to be recompiled on more current macOS compilation tools and libraries.

Supposedly version 2.7.11 is compatible with Mojave. However, that is the version that does. not work and. crashes constantly.

One would love to say that MacOS does not need X11. Unfortunately, Inkscape has not been ported to MacOS natively and it beats the overpriced Illustrator.
