Finder Suddenly Not Accepting Password

I was disabling iCloud Desktop & Documents and moving my files back to my local desktop when I ran into a problem. I disabled these features of iCloud by following some suggestions I found on OSXDaily. While there were several methods discussed, one involved creating new (temporary) Document and Desktop files in Finder locally to hold copies of my files while disabling use of iCloud for my Desktop & Documents, and then moving the contents of those temporary folders into my local Desktop and Documents folders in Finder. I wasn't sure where to put them, but them found I could created those new temporary folders in my Macintosh HD folder in Finder, which required my password to set up. This procedure worked fine, my documents are restored locally, but when I went to delete the empty holder files, Finder would not accept my password. Any advice?

Create a Time Machine Backup Prior to This.

Use a Temporary, Second Administrator Account to access and

delete the folder and file.

NOTE: When sharing, choose who can, and who can’t see those files carefully.

The Steps:

1) login as the administrator of the computer

2) create a new administrator account

3) share the files between the accounts

4) log out

5) login as the new administrator

6) delete the shared file

7) log out of the new administrator

8) log in as the original administrator

9) delete the temporary administrator
