I have the same problem on 10.13.6 I tried what was recommended to launch launchpad from applications but it still won’ t launch. Help please!

So what happens when you double click on the Launchpad icon in the Applications folder or right/control click on it and choose "Open" ?
If you right/control click on Launchpad's icon in the Dock, is "Force Quit" listed? If so, what happens when you select it?

Actually open is grayed out when I try the right click suggestion
