APFS Questions
Within the macOS Mojave APFS environment,
1: If I duplicate a file (using either the Finder Duplicate command, or, the Finder Copy and Paste commands), and then,
I edit and save the new duplicated file, and then,
I drag this edited saved new duplicated file to a different storage medium (external HD or SSD, or, another volume on the same drive that the edited saved new duplicated file resides,
will this file be a full contiguous file, or, will it consist of the original file and the subsequent pointer file?
2: If I perform a Finder Copy on the pointer file, and then,
I perform a Finder Paste on to a different storage medium (external HD or SSD, or, another volume on the same drive that the original file resides,
will this file be a full contiguous file, or, will it consist of the original file and the subsequent pointer file?
3: Does macOS Mojave provide a keyboard shortcut that will create a full contiguous copy of a file, instead of a pointer file?
* "full contiguous file" assumes no file fragmentation occurs during the write operation.
