CleanMyMac3 ran smoothly, until last time when it demanded that I upgrade to the newer version at a 50% discount. There was no way to refresh the page, unless I continued.
I eventually turned my MacBook Air off and restarted. To add insult to injury, I cannot drag both CMM3 or the newer version of the software into the trash.
Has anyone a workaround to get rid of it? It cannot obviously uninstall itself.

Obviously this kind of coercion is very unhelpful and I was tempted to trash the product. However, I could not move the icon to the trash.

1. Click menu in the menu bar, hold the shift key on the keyboard down and choose “Force Quit Safari” from the dropdown.
Safari will quit.
