Message notifications not clearing from all devices.
I had an iPhone X, along with an iPad and Apple Watch series 3 lte.
When I would receive messages I would get the notification on my watch when I’m wearing it. Of course the phone and iPad would show an unread message. I could read the message on my watch or phone or iPad and it would clear the notification on all devices.
Now i just upgraded to iPhone XS Max. Now if I get a message, if I read it on my ipad or watch and not my phone it clears it out on all devices like it’s supposed to. But if I read it on my phone instead, the other devices still show the unread message notification. Strangely though, if I delete a message entirely from my phone it will delete them from all devices showing that it is connected to iCloud and syncing.
Ive reset the phone and restored from backup. I’ve reset and set up as new device. I’ve reset the network settings. I’ve done ##clear# and ##update#. Of course each time unpairing and re-pairing my watch.
Ive checked all iCloud settings.
Mice turned off iMessage and removed it from iCloud, rebooted, turned it back on and switched it on in iCloud and rebooted again.
And yes all devices are updated to latest iOS.
As as I said , if you send me a message and I check it on my iPad or watch, the notification clears on my other devices including the phone. But if I check it on the phone, the iPad and watch still show a pending unread message.
It it did not do this before on my X...
as a side note, I'm not a noob. I’ve been in IT for 26 years and with apple products since 2010. I’m just saying this so that everyone will know that I’ve tried everything above and beyond what the typical user would do or what apples responses would say to try and rectify this.
Im curious if anyone else is having this issue.
Thabks in advance.
