full iCloud due to photos not synching between MacBook and iPhone

My icloud is full and I am trying to reduce photos stored so I can free up space. When I delete them from the Photos zone on my macbook these are not synching up with my iphone. My icloud remains full and I cannot save files etc. Thanks

Photos from iCloud I recently tried to make some space on my hard drive as my photo libarary was taking up too much space and thereofore I activated the iCloud photo option to utilise the cloud instead. All photos were already in the cloud and visible on my iphone and when signed into icloud through the web. Having checked the icloud option the photos remained on my hardrive and therefore I manually deleted the contents of the iphoto lirbarary. I am now unable to link the icloud to photos and although I have tried checking the icloud option in system preferences it doesn't link to icloud and display the photos. how can i only delete photos from my mac but not my icloud and other devices Hi. I have iCloud and enough space for my photos and videos. I have different apple devices. However, on my MacBook, recently I receive an error that my space is full and I can not even download the latest software. I checked my space and I have noticed all my photos/videos are saved on my mac from my icloud. I actually don't want any of them on my Mac, only on my icloud and iphone. How can I delete them from my Mac, without deleting them on my icloud and iphone? Thanks.
