Adding copyright info to photos while in the iPhone

I want to export photos from iPhone with copyright info. If I ad this in Photos, the information disappears when I export. I want to permanently attach copyright info to each photo that I shoot while photo is still in the iPhone.

iPhone SE, 12

Photos does not have a tool to add a copyright notice to images.

You could try to use one of the third-party apps that allow you to modify the EXIF tags (metaphorically or ViewExif), or use a tool to add a watermark, for example: https://filmora.wondershare.com/mobile-editing-tips/watermark-apps-for-iphone.html

There is no way to modify the EXIf directly in Photos on an iPhone or iPad. Photos iOS is very limited. You have to call an app, that installs an editing extension or call an application, that can access the Photos Library and modify the EXIF.

Even Photos on a Mac has a poor support for metadata and batch changing. If you need a professional tool go directly for Photoshop or Lightroom.

Thank you for your reply. I appreciate it. I hope Apple takes note: if they want us to use their Photo program more professionally and thereby compete with the more complicated but option-laden Lightroom, then options such as a simple copyright should be added.

While I do not wish to watermark, if that's the only answer to preserve source, I can do that in some cases. Thanks for the app. I'll go look at it.

My other question involves the same Info panel - if I put in a description or a keyword (I had been trying to put copyright information here because they are the only slots), that desc. or keyword, too, does not transmit with the exported photo.

I have used Album to change, one by one, the label on a group of photos and those labels hold while in Album format. But again, on export, these changed labels disappear.

Modifying the EXIF is worth exploring.

Also, can you batch change EXIF, Info or image labels within Photos?

Thanks for any more enlightenment you send my way! Much appreciated.

Hi - Thanks a lot. So I feared. I find the iPhone photo capability perfect for travel shots (hate dragging the big equipment around) for normal online or in print support for articles I write or work I do. With a few more capabilities, it would be a sleek and efficient full service shop for this niche. I have used Lightroom and Photoshop for years but no longer need what they are best at which is a lot of photo prep and a variety of publication options that one can personally control.

It was fun talking to you about these issues. I appreciate your time.
