locked phone trying to transfer photos

recently dropped my 6s one too many times resulting in the screen completley busting and then it locking itself out and needing to be connected to itunes to be unlocked i assume, which i have no been able to do or figure out. since then ive got myself a new ihpone 8 and am now wanting to transfer my old photos onto it but cant seem to.

ive tried plugging the 6s into my mac but it comes up saying itunes could not connect because a value is missing, have also logged into i cloud on my computer hoping to find what ever photos have managed to be backed up but can only find photos i have taken on my new phone. really dont want to have to pay to get phone fixed to resore them but i have a feeling i might have to.

Try this. Connect your iPhone 6 to Mac and Follow the three pics. It should work
