Typically by definition a machine check of this sort is a hardware problem.

You can certainly try running the AHT/Diagnostic if you can get it to run.

reboot holding the option command D keys https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202731

In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test

I have heard this app is the easiest way to make an appointment at your local Apple Store

Hey, IdolSound.

I see that your MacBook Pro shut down unexpectedly and provided an MCA Error Report. I'm happy to help.

How to use Apple Diagnostics on your Mac -- Check for hardware issues using Apple Diagnostics.

"If your Mac was introduced before June 2013, it uses Apple Hardware Test instead."

If your Mac spontaneously restarts or displays a message that it restarted or shut down because of a problem -- Even though it's not reporting a kernel panic, the steps in this article can help. Scroll down to "Additional Information" for the steps.

Let me know how that goes, and take care!
