MAVIC PRO 2 DLOG files not importing into FCPX

Hi, I'm unable to import H265 DLOG MOV files into FCPX v10.4 on MAC OSX v10.12.6

I don't want to upgrade my OSX because later versions of OSX have compatibility issues with one of my company servers.

When i try to import the files, they are "greyed out" in the import window, and FCPX says the files are not compatible.

If anyone can shed some light, I would be very grateful.

Thanks,

Manoj

If you use Air Drop to send the file from your iPhone to your computer, your phone will convert the file to H.264 before sending.

I can see little visual impact from the conversion, but you do loose the compact size of the HEVC recording.

Side note: on the latest Mojave, the native HEVC recordings from Mavis play extremely well on my older system.

H265 is not supported in Sierra.

If you can't upgrade your OS, you'll have to transcode these files before you can use them.

Not knowing what are the compatibility issues you talk about, I can't say if there is a way to resolve them.

As far working with FCP X and video in general, it makes total sense to upgrade your OS and FCP X to the most recent versions - provided that the issues are not unsurmountable.
