Duplicate photos appeared on my iPhone

Hi,

I recently realized that all of the iPhone photos on my phone from Nov 14, 2018 until present have somehow duplicated. I suspect something might have happened the last time I downloaded pics from my phone to my computer?? How can I get rid of all these duplicates and keep this from happening again?

Which settings do you have enabled for Settings > Your Name > iCloud > Photos?

Perhaps iCloud Photos has become enabled on your iPhone and your Mac?
