Connect MacBook Air 2017 to projection display

How do I connect a MacBook Air 2017, which only has a USB port and a power power, to a video display for a presentation. What connections are needed?

Try usig a USB-C to HDMI adapter.

Plugged in, you may have to accept its connection, as the projector would be detected as a device trying to access your Mac.

A 2017 MacBook Air has 2 USB ports, and a mini display port used in addition to the MagSafe power port.

If if it only has a single USB-C port on one side, then it’s not a 2017 MacBook Air.


Only the MacBook(not Air or Pro) has a single USB-C Port which would require an adapter. Note that it needs to be a USB-C adapter, and not a Thunderbolt 3 adapter which uses the same type of connector.
