iPhoneX updated 2 days ago to iOS 12.1.4.
Now having significant issues with shortened battery life!
Used to go all day without issues, now having to recharge by mid-afternoon.
No change in use of apps, not using Facebook, Maps or Waze.

I’ve just updated my X and haven’t noticed any increase in battery consumption so it’s not necessarily a common X issue. I would try restarting your device first (preferably a Force Restart), if that doesn’t work then you could do a “Reset Network Settings” just in case some process is running away on the connection side of things. Both of these are easy to do and require little effort and time.
If the issue still continues then a Restore via iTunes might help, even using a BackUp afterwards to bring back your SetUp, because the whole process can clear out old files that may be behind your issue.
