Apple Configurator 2

I am trying to setup a Wifi profile to add to my blueprint so I can provision new Ipad devices. I setup the Wifi profile as WPA2 Enterprise PEAP and have filled in the username and password boxes. I've also included the certificate. However, when I try to save the profile, I get an error that states that user input is required and I can't use this profile on supervised devices. There is a yellow triangle next to the Wi-Fi tab, but none of the input boxes in that tab have a yellow triangle, so I'm not sure where the error is or how to fix it.

Good timing.. I was struggling with this today and found your question.

Apparently the "Identity Certificate" is the missing item that should have the third yellow triangle next to it.

Our setup doesn't require a client certificate, so I made a phony one to make Configurator happy:

  1. In Keychain Utility, under the menu do "Certificate Assistant" -> "Create a Certificate..."
  2. Create the certificate- so far as I've found the type doesn't seem to matter.
  3. Export the certificate in .p12 format. A password is required because Configurator won't accept a blank password for the certificate.
  4. Import the certificate into the profile and enter the password.

The certificate should be available under the "Identity Certificate" dropdown.

I was worried that having a phony certificate would make it impossible to connect to WiFi but after saving the credentials to the profile and applying it to the device it seems to work (after trusting the AP's CA certificate, still need to add that to the profile).
