Timetec Brand w/ Hynix Memory Modules Good?

Hi. Is the Timetec brand a good brand? I saw it for about US$128.12 w/ shipping (arrives around March 1). It says it's for the iMac I have 17,1 and is a 16GB kit (2x8GB). My current RAM is Apple factory installed Hynix 8GB (2x4GB).

Then there's an OWC one, same 2x8GB for the 17,1 model iMac (Late 2015 5K) that sells for US$161.38 (arrives around March 1 as well). Either one will need to be picked up 3hours from here (6 hours total opportunity cost just driving + parking + time to get it is about = US$10.8, gas may probably be about US$5.8).

Thank you.

God bless, Proverbs 31

While there are only so many acutal manufacturers of ram chips, bargain basement brands such as Timetec play fast and loose with ram specs when assembling modules where close is good enough. Your iMac requires ram that runs at EXACTLY 1867 MHz, quality maunfactures like OWC and Crucial use ram chips in their modules that are tested to run at exactly that speed, bargain brands may use chips that are listed as 1867 MHz ** actually run at 1864, close enough for a PC but a recipe for kernel panics in a Mac. As advised above stick with either OWC or Crucial.
