I have many iphone backups stored in my old imac (itunes, preferences, devices). i want all my backed up devices data back in my macbook pro. i have transferred all the library and music successfully. i just need my iphone data in my new macbook.

See Locate backups of your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support. Copying the entire MobileSync/Backup folder from one computer to the other might work. If iTunes won't "see" the transferred backups then you, should you need to use one, you may need to swap folder names around so that one backup set replaces another.
