How do I get Extended?
Go to system preferences/keyboard/input sources, click on the + button. Go to the English category, select ABC Extended, and click on the add button. Then you select ABC Extended in the "flag" menu at the top right of the screen.
Let me know if there is a problem on your machine with any of those steps.
