iOS Calendar Search Not Working

I have 20 years of events in my calendar but for about a year now iOS Calendar Search has stopped showing any of my events older than one year. This is hopeless and makes the calendar totally worthless. I just installed 12.1.4 and it is still not fixed. Come on Apple, get your act together and give us back this basic functionality.

Hello LownoteNB,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities! I understand from the information you provided that you’re missing calendar events older than 1 year; I'd like to help.

The following support article provides some troubleshooting steps to try for this behavior:

Get help using iCloud Contacts, Calendars, or Reminders

Specifically check out the section labeled "Check your app settings"

Hope this helps.

Best Regards.

Thanks for the article with the trouble-shooting steps. I tried all of them without any success although there was one thing strange and I have one further question. The strange thing—even though I’m logged in correctly to iCloud and have the Calendars slide switch on, when I select a calendar event and click on Calendar, it shows me which of the calendars the event is in, but none of the calendars show as being in iCloud. There is no iCloud in the pop up box at all. The question—how do I check how many events are in my calendar and the amount of data I’m using? This may be academic since Calendar search correctly finds all events in iCloud on my iMac. OTOH I may be exceeding the data limits.

Thank you.

Erik
