1 iCloud account two AppleID’s in different countries

Ive just moved to Canada from the UK. I have two devices one with my UK Apple ID and one with a new Canada Apple ID.

In setting up the Canada device it did let me use my UK iCloud account, so things like what’s app and photos are now showing on my phone.

I guess my question is

  1. My paranoia wonders if this is a loop whole, when it’s fixed will I loose everything on my Canada device?
  2. Also is there a way now that everything I want is on my Canada device, for me to change my iCloud account so it becomes Canadian as default, whilst keeping everything on my Uk devise?

My end goal is to basically to get everything to stay on my Canada phone without losing anything on my UK phone

An iCloud account is inherently tied to an AppleID. So each AppleID can only be associated with a single iCloud account. An iCloud accout is not country or region specific - it is tied to an AppleID and can be used anywhere on the planet. But an iCloud account also has nothing to do with what you can or cannot access on the various Apple online store fronts (although your AppleID does).

The itunes, App, iBook and Mac stores are all country or region specific and to use them your AppleID must be associated with an address and billing information in the country you are using.

So it is clear - your AppleID is your universal online credential for all Apple services. iCloud, the App, iTunes, iBook and Mac stores, FaceTime, iMessage etc are all separate apple services accessed via your AppleID (and your AppleID defines your account with each of those services). Some services are country or region agnostic - iCloud, iMessage and FaceTime could not care less where you are when you use them. But because they are tied to commercial sales of copyright IP, the various apple stores are all specific to a country or region, so to use them, your AppleID must be linked to country or region specific information.

See https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201389 for info about changing your country or region for access to different Apple online store fronts.

I feel very sorry for you.

I mistakingly made a second apple ID, now Im in a nightmare!

try to keep all your purchases independent of Apple eg Beatport, Bandcamp instead of iTunes.

I recently purchased music, my device deleted them, I can play the full songs in iTunes store but no longer download!

Its the firey place (word gets blocked on these forums!) or the opposite of blowing.
