Lention USB-C 4 in 1 converter causing lag?

Purchased a 2018 macbook pro 15" a week ago, and noticed that plugging in a Lention USB-c 4 in 1 converter causes in any process (scrolling, video, opening programs, typing, etc.), regardless of whether something is actually plugged into the other end of the converter. Has anyone had any luck with another company or Apple brand converters not causing any lag? I need to plug in multiple things into my laptop for work (HD, 2 monitors). Any advice will be appreciated.

I have read multiple people saying these can cause interference with a wireless mouse, WiFi, or bluetooth, however, this issue does not pertain to me, as every process in the macbook lags independent of WiFi.
