Mojave 10.14.3


If you ran DiskUtility from your mounted drive / or from terminal on the mounted drive this is a possibility.


You can Force quit if necessary holding the power button for an extended amount say ~8-10 sec.


Boot into Recovery (Command R) and from the dropdown menu: Utilities>  Disk Utility> run the First Aid on your Macintosh HD. If errors are found and repaired, run again until no errors reported.
