What is the gray bar at the bottom of the multitasking screen? I see my friends and family have it but it never shows up for me.
I’m not sure what this is and I’m just curious how I’d be able to use it

Oh no. It isn’t from the iPhone X. It’s on my sisters SE and other iPhone 7+ phones that my friends have. They double tap the home button and a gray bar with like the music icon shows up at the bottom of the screen
Do you all have the same phone? I'm guessing it's the indicator bar on the iPhone X and newer that you're referring to, and it's not a feature on the iPhone 8 and older.
The line is there as a point of reference to swipe up to get to the home screen since the iPhone X has no physical Home button.

Yes, Lyssa, that’s the point. I don’t have it on my phone, but others do. The bar at the bottom shows up on my sisters iPhone SE as well, and my other friends phones. Not the indicator bar.
I don't see a gray bar in that screenshot?
~Lyssa
Thank you. That explains it
