Garageband and audio midi setup not recognising midi controller

I can run Midi Monitor and it sees that I have plugged in a midi controller - (Akai MPK mini) but when I run the audio midi setup app in Utilities, or I run Garageband it says there are zero midi devices to use?

I cannot now get Garageband to recognise the Akai controller. It used to work ok.

iMac with Retina 5K display, 10.14

I solved this, theres was a window I never knew about in audio MIDI setup app, the midi studio window, never seen it before, but here I can unplug & reinstall the midi controller keyboard, once I'd disabled MidiPipe from hijacking the one and only midi port available, thus hiding it from Garageband.
