How to Play MP4 movie on iOS?

I sent an attached MP4 movie to my iPad. After I touched the 'download' symbol the symbol disappeared and nothing else happened.

Uploading mp4 movies to iphone XR I have mp4 movies that I created with my SLR camera. I need to upload them to my iPhone XR so I can edit them with imovies. Video I downloaded movies online and whenever I try to play them the video does play there is data and it mentions the size of the file but it doesn’t play the movie. And if I fast forward it I can see it moving but it doesn’t play and one other issue I am facing is that some of my videos no longer have sound my phone is iPhone 11 Pro Max
