Cannot get Itunes to change back to english, no menu options or anything

Several months ago I did an update for my itunes and when it was done my itunes was in spanish. I tried everything that I could figure to try to get it back to english...the menu drop down DOES NOT HAVE ANY OPTION FOR ENGLISH. All the information that is provided makes it sound like a simple fix, just drop down the menu and select English and quit...NOPE!!! Not an option in my case.

I have removed itunes and its residual files and everything I could except for my music files...and when I open the program after Specifically selecting English during the reinstall...the program is STILL IN FRENCH!!!

There is NO information out there that gives a fix to this issue...they all say that simple little thing and that is NOT helping.

Ah, so not in Spanish after all. Well, never mind, it makes no difference which language it's currently in, look at the position of the menu items I point to in the screenshots.

  • In iTunes look on the top bar menu for the second word from the left. In French it's Édition and in Spanish, it's Edición (the English word word is Edit)
  • Click on it and choose the last item on the drop-down menu. (In French, it's Préférences and in Spanish it's Preferencias - in English the word is Preferences)

  • In the panel the appears, stay on the left pane (General) and click on the language drop-down menu (as indicated in the screenshots):

choose English (whichever one is appropriate for you) and then click on the OK button. Crucially, note that the language will not change until you restart iTunes:

Did my post help you? I know that someone has marked it as helpful, but that doesn't tell me who.

If it has helped you, it would help everyone else if you post a quick comment to confirm that to be the case. You made the point that all the other information you found lacked crucial information.
