I have a folder hidden on my Mac and want to unhide it permanently. I have tried various methods but none of them seem to work. Not even the chflags nohidden command. Please help it's urgent!! Thanks.

The Terminal command is no longer necessary to see hidden files and folders. Simply press:
Command+Shift+(period)
You will see all hidden items on all drives. The only place they won't show is your desktop.
Press the hotkey combination again to hide them.
Please ask specialists on this forum of the following command is correct.
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles true; killall Finder

I just found that one out myself a couple of months ago. Makes me wonder how long that's been in the OS. 🙂
I'm not familiar with the Terminal command but I use ShowHiddenFiles to make hidden files visible.
Does the folder have a period at the beginning of its name? If it does Control (right) - click on it and select Rename from the contextual menu. Remove the period and it should remain visible.
