I saw cuttinsledge installed two days ago on my OS mac air 11in. Is this a malware?

I don't know if it's needing removed but my Bing search of cuttinsledge listed lots of ads for malware help. This was the only apple.com result, (on page 2 or 3). I don't trust maleware removers.

Other than Facebook, eBay, amazon, and youtube, I haven't really used my computer much but now I'm trying to learn to backup; sync a shared iPhone 6s; upgrade to Mojave; add a cheap external ssd; and buy the app Logic Pro X.

All I've really learned is that "you don't know what you don't know". :)

You posted you don't tryst malware removers, Malwarebytes was written by Thomas R, a long time poster and is highly recommended by many long time posters.

Malwarebytes uninstall

It appears cutting-edge is a piece of redirect malware which should be remove. For directions on how to do that try https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8222475

Cuttinsledge is the spelling of the document on my mac. It has an un-installer and text. I think it's a homepage redirect. I don't know.
