I am building a quick video for my company in iMovie and have used the map "Old World", the theme neon and YouTube royalty free music - quick question what are the licensing conditions regarding using iMovie Backgrounds and Themes for a commercial project?

Your question has been asked by many on this forum. License and copyright issues are complex and tricky. No one really has any definitive answers so you are best advised to consult a legal advisor. Perhaps your company has legal counsel you can talk to.
If you open iMovie and click on the menu item "iMovie/About iMovie" and then click on the tab "License Agreement" in the box that appears you will see the applicable license agreement. Paragraphs 2A, 2F, and 2G seem to be the most pertinent paragraphs.

I agree that the license agreement is confusing. You can use certain "sample content" "royalty free" in one's projects, the limitation being that one can't publish the "sample content" as a "standalone". Does that imply that one can publish it as part of your project? If you come up with an answer, or learn anything, please post back if you have time. Every situation is different, of course, so what applies to you may not apply to others. License and copyright law is a briar patch, to be sure.

thanks for getting back to me! I had already attempted to make head or tail of the license agreeement, but as will such agreements it is never exaclty clear cut, hence my question - I was hoping to find a clear cut and dry answer from Apple in the community, but apparently not. Anyway when I read 2G, it appears that the content is royalty free, but I will heed your advice and consult with our legal team.
