I purchased an audio iBook on my phone but want to be able to listen to this on my watch without having the phone with me. How do I transfer it to the watch?

Unfortunately not, that just tells you how to sync across the Books app on multiple devices but the Books app doesn’t seem to be available on the Watch......
You can use audible app to have books on your watch. Again this doesn’t use iBooks and you will need a different subscription for it.
Just finished chatting with Apple support. You do need the Audible app. But this does then pick up iBooks with no extra subscription. Very odd that you need an Amazon app to listen to iBooks bought on an Apple app......
