Tried to download Apple Books, but nothing happens. So, is IBooks now Apple Books? Tried to find the weekly 'free' download, where has that gone?

Books came bundled with iOS.
It depends on your iPad model, if you have iOS 10.3.3 then you must have iPad 4th generation.
For that iPad it's the highest iOS version you can update to.
You need a later model if you want to update your iOS.
So my version wont be able to support Apple Books, just IBooks. I occasionally used to download the free book of the week, but this 'freebie' seems to have disappeared. Or only avaiable on Apple Books now?
I tried to upgrade/download Apple Books, but nothing happened. My IPad is about 4 years old, but is up to date with updates. How do I upgrade?? I have version 10.3.3, says it is up to date.
Your iPad should still be able to download free books.
Use the search field and type "public domain" without the quotes.
Note: the newer books may not be readable with your old iPad.
