How to import Wav files into iTunes

When I try to import wav files using the command File, Add to library and the select a record already on the internal disk in Wav format, iTunes do not perform the import like if I put a CD in my superdrive..

I am using Mojave 10.14.3 and iTunes ver. 12.9.2.5

What to do to make is work?

iMac 27", macOS 10.13

It probably is importing it, you just don't see where it is and that's because it is being entered under the file name. WAV files in iTunes do not contain metadata like most other files. You can enter metadata for the file in iTunes but it probably won't travel if you move the file elsewhere.
