WiFi call on the operator Orange Romania is not working with iPhone

Hello.

I purchased recently iPhone 6s (A1688) from Orange Romania. It has version 12.0.1 (16A404), carrier version Orange Romania 33.0.

Unfortunately, WiFi call is not working on iPhone. I also use Samsung 7 and WiFi call is fine, it works great. So operator is offering this service. I called their customer service and made a lot of restarts in order to make it work, but no success. Unofficially, this is a problem from Apple rather the operator.

What to do now ?

Wrote yesterday again to Orange Romania and got the following feed-back:

"

Good day.

I am informing you that in this moment we are encoring a technical error regarding the WiFi call on iPhone.


The technical team tries to solve this matter asap and we apologize for the eventual inconveniences.


In the future, you may contacting us, as now, either via internet pageg of Orange, of Customer Care by dialing 300 or 0374300300 in case you call from roaming.


I wish you a nice day.

"


The point is non-working WiFi is at least two months time (in my case). It seems not an easy problem, as Orange could not solve it until now.


I become more and more unhappy with the iPhone while using it in low-coverage areas. I own also a Vodafone Sure Signal due to low coverage at home. But when I come with my iPhone within the range of VSS, the battery drains in 1-2 hours completly. After talking with Vodafone technician, I understand it's due iPhone system of network search algorithm.

So, why to switch using iPhone instead of Android ?

Unfortunately, if you can't use any other carrier except Orange for wifi calling, you won't be able to test your iphone with a different carrier.

I do not mean to be argumentative, but, if you've already tried to update your iphone to iOS 12.1.4 without success, AND, if many other iphone's owners are suffering the same issue in your country, I would insist contacting Orange and explaining your problem, possibly to a chief technician.

What do they say?

I made update to 12.1.4, reset operator settings (now 35) and still same status. Moreover, got an SMS from Orange saying the 4G call and WiFi calling are active, but none can be seen in status bar, nor I can activate in menu. Last time Orange customer service said it's a problem and will revert to me with an SMS after fix. Never happened. I am wondering if Apple was notified by Orange Romania. Or maybe now Apple will ask Orange about the situation. How can I open a ticket at Apple level, so will check with Orange ?
