Finder - change delay to edit file name

Hello,

High Sierra

When you single click a file icon on the desktop, Finder highlights its name and, after a while, allows you to click on it and edit it.

I seem to remember that a long time ago there was a Finder parameter that would allow you to expand or shorten the delay between clicking a file icon and being allowed to edit its name.

Does this parameter still exist and if yes do you happen to know how to access it ?

Thanks !

If there was such a thing I don't remember it but all you have to do is select the file then click on its name. No delay.
