Screen Sharing "Switch to Control Mode" Menu Item Greyed Out

I've been using Screen Sharing on my iMac (2011, High Sierra 10.13.6) to control my headless Mac Pro (2006, Lion). Recently the shared MP window appears but in observe mode only. I cannot control it with my mouse. I've scoured internet but have not had any success.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Screen Sharing: I can see the user's mouse movement but not the screen content. We use Screen Sharing for several devices in our house. I am able to see the screen an M1 MacBook and an M1 mini however on my wife’s new and M1 iMac, I am able to login and only see a black screen but I can However I am watch her move mouse across the black screen. I cannot see is anything else. Any ideas on what is happening and how I can correct it? Paul

MSteams Share screen BigSur I'm having trouble with MSTeams since getting a new MacBook Air, enabling upgrade to BigSur. Specifically, I can't seem to share my screen. The usual up-arrow button launches a new window which used to offer different sharing options, such as for specific windows or apps. Now the window displays the turning wheel (as often when the system is doing something in the background); but the window closes after 5 secs or so. I imagine there's a new level of security somewhere. Advice welcomed John

Screen share and screen recording aren't working on Macbook Air 2020 I have a Macbook Air 2020 and for some reason I can not share my screen. I am able to record it with the Cmd + Shift 5, but when I would like to share my screen on Zoom or on Webex it says I have to approve it in the System Preference-s where the Screen Recording settings are inactive. I am not able to approve or add said programs. Does anyone else have the same problem or has found a solution?

In the Sharing Pref Pane on the Mac Pro... Uncheck Remote Management box and select "Screen Sharing" instead.

Doesn't seem logical that it would change on the MP, have you restarted the MP?

My only other monitor is my iMac. The MP's Cinema monitor is unusable (video card maybe).

Lack of a screen I the reason for screen sharing, that was working fine until now.

I will look into SSH.

I appreciate your reply, however, I can't control the mouse on the Mac Pro. That is my main issue.

If there is some other way to do that please let me know.

I was aware of that, was hoping you had a monitor you could use for a bit.

I think SSH could do it, but not very familiar with it.
