Restore packup- password failure

I used my Apple id password to restore my phone's back onto my new one, but it wouldn't work as it said its incorrect. But, then I read somewhere over here that you should keep punching in older passwords, I did that too but it didnt work either. Its extremely important for me to restore my backup, PLEASE HELP.

Restore from Backup I just got a new iPhone 12. I usually plug in my new iPhone to my laptop & restore from backup & use it. But this time, when I entered the requested password, it says password incorrect. The password is for the Apple ID, right? I was able to sign in to iTunes (so my password is correct!). I re-entered the same password again but it still doesn't work. I don't understand what's wrong.

Lost Password for Iphone backup last night i wanted to free up space and backed up my iphone, restored it and then tried "restore from backup" but iTunes was asking me for a password i never had set (and was never prompted to after selecting Encrypt backup etc). Anyways, apple support was no help but i came across another thread of users experiencing the same issue. Im posting this for anyone who has the same issue and needs to restore their phone from backup. Old thread is: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3091672 these are a list of passwords i read other users trying with success: 1234 0000 apple ID password iphone password windows login windows admin login microsoft account login personal email address login (this was my success) for some reason when my phone was backing up, it never prompted me for a password and appears that iTunes had chosen one for me from saved passwords that i had on my windows computer. Theres some kind of glitch that happened to me and has happened to other users as well. Anyways i hope this post helps someone down the road as the old thread had helped me and was able to get everything i had back on my iphone from backup.

If you lost your backup password, you can't restore it. There is no solution other than trying to figure out the password.
