My friend recently bought an second hand used apple watch s3 and they are kinda strange.
They work normaly everything is the same but the rear side of the watch doesn't have buttons to eject strap you can just slide it out. But instead of those eject buttons there are holes.. also down there there is strange cutout. The model number of those watches is A1960.. I added some photos and video.
Could someone explain this?
I think you may have found a fake. It looks suspicious and not very similar to my 42mm Series 3 which I know to be genuine Apple because I carried it from the Apple Store myself. See photo for comparison, note the difference around the band locks, and extra holes in the watch back on your specimen - although mine is LTE and yours claims to be the GPS model so I’m not 100% certain.
The only other check I can suggest is to find the serial number, (see How to find the serial number or IMEI for your Apple Watch - Apple Support ), compare hardware engraving with the on screen version if the watch is working, and then feed it into the warranty checker, Check Your Service and Support Coverage - Apple Support. That should identify a high proportion of counterfiets and products of the Great Oriental Copy Machine.

Your photos didn’t come through, but your text may have enough information. A1960 does not appear to be a valid Apple Watch model number, and A1860 (closest near miss) would be a 38mm Series 3, USA model. See Identify your Apple Watch - Apple Support for a worldwide list of valid models.
It is though. No Apple Watch that Apple ships has holes in the casing like that. It’s been modified in some way.

That is 100% fake. Sorry to say.
They don't appear in warranty checker.. but as I'am saying there is no fake that could normaly pair to the icloud I got them as second hand used watch. I was told by youtuber "everythingapplepro" that these are prototype.
I've gotten them second hand from internet these weren't in retail packaging..
I was just curious if someone would know if these were demo version or prototype but everyone is saying they are fake but they are not. Fake wouldn't pair with icloud and everything.. Youtuber everythingapplepro told me that this is prototype unit.
Just because someone claimed it was a special prototype doesn't make it so.
Having seen the link to China my money is now tending to favor preproduction test models stolen from the Foxconn site. one way or the other I’m pretty sure they are illegal.

I'm pretty sure it's a knock off. Apple prototypes, especially early ones, just don't get seen in the wild.
If it is, it has been modified. There’s nothing that we or Apple can do.

It's 1000% a real apple product! I think it may be some testing unit?
Prototypes don't come in retail packaging.
However, you've gotten the opinion of people here. I'm not entirely clear what else you expect anyone to do.
