Background App Refresh effects performance?

I want to know that does disabling "Background App Refresh" increases or decreases the performance? I have disabled it because I don't use my iPhone 8 for any other apps except WhatsApp & Safari. Kindly answer?

No just saves data. You apps will refresh when you open them.
