Sim not valid

I am trying to switch to a new sim but when i inserted the new sim it said sim not valid please help. My old service provider definetly unlocked the Iphone more than 72 hrs ago, I dont have Itunes on my desktop or mobile. Apple support is unable to help. since i cannot make or receive calls i am a bit stuck here.

Once the carrier approves the unlock, YOU have to complete the process on your phone.
